Friday

Post by neil_thomson »

It's Friday again: hooray! What is everyone doing to celebrate the end of the week? Or do you love your job/education so much that you wish it wasn't ending so soon??

I'll be going for a pizza and pint in a South-East London pub tonight. Very excited.

No way, I'm also going for a pizza and a pint in a south London pub! Clearly the end-of-week activity du jour

Ha, what are the chances it's the same one? :o Maybe 3%? Come and say hi if you see me there :P

It's my first time going to this pub, so I'm both excited and nervous - what if the pizzas don't live up to the hype? What if they don't serve Guinness?

I try to tell myself these things are unlikely. I should take each experience as it comes and not worry about all the possible outcomes. Worrying gets you nowhere.

I'd wager there are fewer ~33 pubs in the area which serve pizza with some level of hype so I rate the chances a bit better!

This is good advice, I frequently have to remind myself to focus on things within my locus of control. Make the best of what you'e got - if they don't have Guinness maybe this is an opportunity to find something new that you might enjoy!

Got some friends coming round to try some recipes from a new cookbook I got - doing a caponata and a butternut & tamarind stew. Only slightly nervous about the food turning out well
Put your face together, better get it right.

That sounds like a great evening. I'm sure your friends will love the food - it's healthy as well as delicious. I hope your friends will repay the favour one day.

Amazingly we did - no cap. It was a beautiful moment. That's the magic of the forum.
