Neil here from the band! So glad that someone brought up Godspeed, I love post-rock and they're one of my favourite bands...

Unpopular opinion ( ) but I actually like the more recent Godspeed albums best (still love Lift Your Skinny Fists). Their last 4 albums are all amazing, my fave is probably Luciferian Towers - Bosses Hang Pt I - III is one of my favourite pieces of music ever. Their album from last year is also fantastic.

My other favourite post rock album is The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place by Explosions In The Sky. I was very lucky to see them at Green Man last year when we played there, definitely my highlight of the festival.

I know I’m a little late to this thread, but if you’re still looking for a band similar to GYBE, I recently found this one band English called Maruja. Been listening to a lot of their stuff recently. They released an EP called Tír na nÓg recently, which has an amazing song called Ceathair on it. Some really great stuff. Their song The Tinker is also fantastic.

are Mogwai too obvious of a pick? I think their older stuff is absolutely fantastic although their latest album's pretty good too. My personal favourite is ATOMIC, their soundtrack to a BBC documentary about the development of nuclear physics and engineering.

two GY!BE-adjacent bands are Silver Mt. Zion (literally a side project) and Do Make Say Think (iirc on the same label Constellation Records).

But a suggestion i would put here is The Microphones. They fit well with Godspeed even though they're obviously different
